Following the scholarship program for talented poor students is the exchanges between entrepreneurs in the Saigon entrepreneurclub and nearly 500 students of Nong Lam University taking place in the morning of February 25th 2012, with the topic“from business ideas to start-up dream”. As an invited speaker to share my experiences, I really noticed and paid attention to questions by the students and tried to understand as quickly as possible to give some answers satisfying their concerns.Là một diễn giả được tòa soạn mời để chia sẻ kinh nghiệm, tôi thật sự quan tâm và chú ý cách đặt câu hỏi của các bạn sinh viên, và cố gắng hiểu thật nhanh để có thể đưa ra một số giải đáp thỏa mãn những đắn đo, trăn trở của các em…
“Why are the students’ business projectsoften short-lived? How can help students realize their dreams?”. “How to nurture start-up will and keep confidence, intense and passionateness as early time?”. “Why do successful often tell aboutthei sufferings and difficulties in their past for today’s youth? There is no reason why the youth who are trainedcannot set out achievements like their parents?”
The wonders of youth posed to both questioners and respondents responsibility to pull closer the gaps in perception between the two generations. We eachexperienced the periodswhen we look back we draw “our life lessons”. There are people who overcame difficulties, challenges and tribulations become strong, confident and successful, however, there are many who are “deeply immersed” in frustration, loss of confidence and self cowered. Many students who do not know anything about characteristics of businesslines dared to write down the investment project of dozens billion. You have not prepared yourself for the crucial knowledge for business but you quickly think of the great work while you did not know where to get fundings or rely entirely on loans. Once you loaned without completing repayment duties of principal at least for the clients, the social relations would deteriorate, your good name would be compromised with the words“infidelity”.
Dream will just be dream if it is unrealistic and not from the need to change the quality of human life. In the digital era, with the boom of information technology, we are susceptible to “contaminate” or easy to “mimic” the thoughts and behaviors of a movement, and thought ourselves to keep pace with the age. It is a regrettable mistake!
With young people of a good family education foundation, equipped with all methodical knowledge or the values received in the religious life, will facilitate the development of personality because they have soon awareness of the role, responsibility and self-worth in the present and future. However, sometimes the prejudices of society, the comments, the pressures of work, and the negative phenomena made us“back down” or “oscillate” with many emotional tones, then became suspicious ofour dreams, ambitions, even wanted to go against the principles of life that we gained after a lot of experience.
Consistency is only when we realize that the nurturing of positive thinking in front of people, things and everything around us is essential.
The word of“successful” is the thing everyone dreams of and wants to achieve. In human history, regardless of national leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists or artists, the majority came from and experienced difficult times, even miserables. (Founder - the late CEO of Apple - Steve Jobs is an example). What makes them so powerful and extraordinary to go from success to success? It is arduousness and challengesthat molded and shaped into a life purpose, strong will and determination to pursue their goals.
Successful people often recounted their experiences on the way to succeed with the purpose to convey experiences, in terms of both awareness and action, to the next generation. They want the younger generation to understand that, in order to obtain the fruits, they must plough. However, the “How to plough” depends on the actual conditions of each age. They did not meanto “Take sorghum to compare with fragrant rice” (said Thanh Lam - Deputy General Director of Saigon Foods), or put the burden on the shoulders of young people to be“like phoenix and dragon”!
Nurturing an attitude of positive thinking is what we each can learn, practice and train to become a good habit.
