Overcoming the challenges

X- Games are not inherently in my preferences menu, but because there was no choice, so I plucked up courage and mettle to climb on a banca upstream to the waterfall Pagsanjan - a famous tourist area downtown 95km from Manila. Philippines rowers are actually skilled rowers. The banca boats flocked into group ready to take us for sighseeing of serenity of the river and then progress to conquest the Pagsanjan waterfall.

I witnessed the high steep cliffs covered with moss and vines lurking in springs and sunshine. The spectacle was quiet and peaceful which made me feel like I was exploring the Amazon jungle.

The boatmen (banqueros) had a gaunt face, tan but muscular arms and legs. They were very clever, skilful rowers to firmly put the bancas upstream, dodging the rocks, hovering over the fast water flow to come near the waterfall in suspense, cheer and happy consolation of the visitors.

A mood, a feeling of jubilation occured when the boat boated downstream back to the pier. A harrying fear in me had disappeared…

Our group had an excursion on the river, conquering spectacular waterfall Pagsanjan with excitement and beautiful memories of the country and Philippine hardworking people, but on the face always a fresh and permanent smile. Filipinos almost have a natural endowments of singing and dancing ...
