My teacher

The bustling life, busy mix of work, family care goes by year after year. Thus I have lost contact with my teachers over 30 years.

By a classmate at Tran Boi Co high school, I heard of a number of my teachers who are still healthy despite old age and poor health. I actively arranged a Saturday afternoon to visit the teachers with him...
Teacher Trung- my math teacher, despite changing job as leather shoes processing after retirement, but he still has smile, witty tone, and sharp firmness on his face. Sitting on a sewing machine, he was painstakingly with each needle, pasting eache heels. Shoes store “Duy Anh” on 264 Ngo Quyen Street, District 10 has become the familiar address with his colleagues, relatives and neighbors. It is thanks to the quality and durability of products made from the hands of labor, and the mind of a teacher.

By now, a mother of mature children, but when talking to him, I have been graciously reminded by him: “You should always remember staying healthy, using mind in the human behaviour, using virtue to win the hearts of mercy and practicing charity for yourself and your family”. I leaf with leather sandals - the lightweight material but heavy sentimetal attachment. Yes, on all way today and tomorrow, his words become like sandals tied to my feet so that I can burn beautiful mark on the way of life, as a good student of his.

Unlike teacher Trung, teacher Chan - my Literature teacher just put on the shirt of the austerity, gently stepping down the stairs when we arrived. Although bushy eyebrows were white but his eyes were bright and his voice still clear (although he had vocal cord surgery) and soft which I heard as if I were a teenager when I dreamt of his lectures on the legend of the teacher and student between Confucius - Yan Hui; the heart to heart communication between Ba Nha – Tu Ky ...

I have heard him preach Noble Eightfold Path - right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness and right concentration. I will bear in mind your words as I attentively listen to your teacher in school and am told: “You must learn, learn more, learn forever, because the learning will dispel the darkness and bring the light...”
